Remembering OABA Board Member Mike Erwin
It is with great sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Mike Erwin of KOVA of Ohio, a longtime leader, friend, and dedicated supporter of the Ohio AgriBusiness Association.
Mike dedicated more than 40 years of his career to KOVA of Ohio, beginning as Warehouse Manager and later serving in sales before becoming Sales Manager, a role he held for the past 15 years. Throughout his career, Mike built a reputation for his industry knowledge, strong relationships, hard work and genuine commitment to the people he served.
Mike’s impact extended well beyond his work at KOVA. He was a dedicated member of the OABA Board of Directors and also served on the OABA Educational Trust Board, giving generously of his time, leadership, and resources to support Ohio’s agribusiness industry and the next generation of agricultural leaders.
Mike was a longtime and generous financial supporter of the OABA Educational Trust and its scholarship and educational programs. Through Mike’s leadership, he and the KOVA team were steadfast supporters of Golf for Scholarships and Target & Clay Shooting for Scholarships, helping raise funds to provide educational opportunities for students pursuing careers in agriculture and agribusiness.
Mike also worked closely with OABA Educational Trust to support Ohio FFA state proficiency awards, further demonstrating his commitment to investing in young people and strengthening the future of Ohio agriculture.
Those who knew Mike will remember not only his professional accomplishments, but also his friendship, loyalty, and willingness to support others. His contributions to OABA, the Educational Trust and Ohio agriculture have left a lasting legacy.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Mike’s wife, Julie, his family, his friends and the entire KOVA of Ohio team during this incredibly difficult time.
We are grateful for Mike’s many years of service, friendship and support of OABA and the broader agricultural community. His impact will continue to be felt through the organizations, programs and people he so generously supported.
Mike will be deeply missed and always remembered.
