Year started: Heritage Cooperative was formed in 2009 through the consolidation of Champaign Landmark, Inc. and Farmers Commission Co. and merged with Agland in 2017, keeping the Heritage name.

Company history:
Heritage Cooperative’s legacy extends back over a century. The Farmers Commission Company (originally the US Commission Company) was established in 1919. Champaign Farm Bureau Service Company, which became Champaign Landmark, Inc., originated in 1932. These entities merged in 2009 to form Heritage Cooperative. The 2017 merger with Agland Co-op expanded the cooperative's geographic reach and service diversity.
How has your company changed over the years?
Initially strong in agronomy and grain services in western Ohio, Heritage Cooperative expanded into central and eastern Ohio following the Agland merger. This strategic growth enhanced our capabilities, particularly in energy services. Our evolution is driven not merely by expansion, but by diversifying offerings to mitigate risks and better serve our members. We've recently made significant investments in technology and infrastructure upgrades to enhance efficiencies, optimize logistics, and improve the customer experience.
How do you see your company growing in the future?
Heritage Cooperative will continue to grow by delivering tailored solutions and outstanding service to our members and customers. We remain committed to integrity, continuous improvement, and robust partnerships. Heritage Cooperative strives to enhance our members' experiences, helping them achieve sustained success in agriculture and their communities. We also aim to expand digital services through our Heritage Portal, offering streamlined grain management and transaction tools accessible anytime, anywhere.

- We have nearly 5,000 members and over 20,000 customers.
- Engages in sustainability through strategic partnerships with The Fertilizer Institute (4R Nutrient Stewardship), Truterra (Land O’Lakes sustainability).
- Collaborates with Truterra and Campbell Soup Company to advance sustainable practices among Ohio wheat growers, directly supporting products like Pepperidge Farm cookies and crackers manufactured in Ohio.
- Active in community support programs, including Ohio FFA Foundation, Ohio Farm Bureau’s "Cultivating a Cure," "Fueling the Cure," and local 4-H and FFA Junior Fairs.
- Continuously investing in facility modernization and technology enhancements to provide convenient, innovative solutions to our members.- Recently introduced Grain Offer Management tools in the Heritage Portal, enabling customers to manage grain offers efficiently from their mobile devices.
