OABA Signs Letter to Congress on Surface Transportation


The Ohio AgriBusiness Association, with 60 state and national agricultural associations, signed a letter to the U.S. Congress regarding surface transportation. The next surface transportation bill is an opportunity to enact policies that foster a more environmentally responsible, productive, and economically viable freight transportation system to keep America’s agricultural and manufacturing industries competitive in the world market.

OABA Participates in ARA Virtual D.C. Fly-In


March 1-4, the Ohio AgriBusiness Association connected virtually with legislators during the Agricultural Retailers Association D.C. Fly-In. During the visits, the group shared several key issues impacting Ohio agribusinesses. Among other topics, conversations focused on transportation infrastructure and regulation reform.

OABA Submits Testimony in Support of Rural Broadband


Chris Henney recently provided testimony supporting rural broadband to the Ohio House Finance Committee and Senate Energy & Public Utilities Committee. House Bill 2 and Senate Bill 8, if passed, would incentive further broadband deployment to underserved areas of the state.

Ohio’s State Budget Process and It's Impact on Ohio Agriculture


On Monday, February 1st Governor DeWine debuted his proposal for the Fiscal Year 2022 – 2023 budget for the state of Ohio, launching a process that will culminate with a state budget signed by the Governor by July 1, 2021. Chris' Corner: OABA Joins Coalition to Stop the Spread


Individual action and vigilance encouraged to protect Ohio's agriculture industry

OABA is pleased to announce that the Ohio AgriBusiness Association has recently joined the Coalition to Stop the Spread. Led by the Ohio Business Roundtable, the Coalition consists of businesses, nonprofit organizations, institutions of higher learning and other Ohio organizations that recognize the threat COVID-19 presents to our health and our economy.

Congressman David Scott Named Chairman of House Agriculture Committee

Congressman David Scott has been approved by the Democratic Caucus to serve as the first African American Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee. The committee is empowered with legislative oversight relating to the U.S. agriculture industry, forestry, nutrition, and rural development.

OABA Signs Letter to Gov. DeWine Urging Ag Designated High Priority in COVID-19 Vaccine Phase 2


The Ohio AgriBusiness Association, with eight state agricultural organizations, has signed a letter to Governor Mike DeWine urging the administration to consider agriculture - one of the 16 essential infrastructures - high priority in phase 2 of Ohio's proposed COVID-19 vaccination plan.

OABA Signs Letter to FMCSA Supporting Driver Pilot Program for 18-20 Year Olds


The Ohio AgriBusiness Association, with 45 state and national organizations, has signed a letter to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s FMCSA in support of a pilot program to allow truck drivers aged 18-20 to drive across state lines.
