Meeting the demands of an ever-growing feed and food industry requires, at some level, the use of advanced technologies. Information collection, safety monitoring, remote/PDA tools, quality controls and automated systems all have become standard equipment for many feed processors.
The American Feed Industry Association, AgGateway and Feed & Grain Magazine are curious to find out what kinds of technologies are critical to the success and continued growth of the industry and have teamed up to create the AFIA IT Innovation Award, which is open to AFIA members only. The winner will be invited to attend AgGateway’s annual meeting on Nov. 12-14, 2013, in St. Petersburg, Fla., to compete for the overall agriculture IT Innovation Award.
Spending a few minutes to explain how, in general terms, technology works for your company, can help both you and your favorite charitable organization.
Companies wishing to submit an application should provide the following for review:
The criteria for receiving an award include novelty of approach, execution of the program, benefits of the technology and ability to determine results (i.e. of a tangible nature).
Finalists will be selected by the AFIA Staff, AgGateway and Feed & Grain Magazine. The winner will receive suitable recognition at AFIA’s Board of Directors Meeting held in May, as well as coverage in key industry trade magazines and other news media outlets. In addition, your company will be profiled in AFIA publications such as the AFIA Journal.
Please submit the completed form and narrative to AFIA by April 30, 2013. If you have questions about the program, contact Sarah Novak at AFIA at 703-558-3574 or snovak@afia.org.
