OABA Annual Meeting and Member Appreciation Day Recap

Members and Their Families Enjoyed the Day at the Ohio State Fair

To show our appreciation for our members, the Ohio AgriBusiness Association (OABA) hosted the first-ever Member Appreciation Day in collaboration with the Annual Meeting. Members and their families received complimentary general admission tickets, parking vouchers and meal vouchers for the July 30 Annual Meeting and Member Appreciation Day at the Ohio State Fair.

The Annual Meeting kicked off with welcoming remarks from Ohio Department of Natural Resources Director Jim Zehringer, Ohio Department of Agriculture Director David Daniels and Ohio State Fair General Manager Virgil Strickler. 

Several important bylaw changes were accepted during the Annual Meeting; the group voted to:

• Adjust the fiscal year to a calendar year, with the new fiscal year starting January 1, 2013;
• Provide for electronic voting for OABA business;
• Recognize Dr. Bobby Moser as an OABA Honorary Member;
• Pass the gavel from Herb Mayer to Jill Boyd, officially signifying Jill as the new OABA Chairwoman.
