OABA Sustaining Sponsor Spotlight: The Farmers Elevator Grain & Supply Association of New Bavaria

Spotlight Header Bronze

The Farmers Elevator Grain & Supply Association of New Bavaria offers a wide range of services, including custom application, rental equipment, grain handling, chemical and fertilizer products and marketing programs. Since the cooperative originated in 1912, Farmers Elevator has continued to expand their business to meet the growing needs of their customers.

After a fire destroyed the original elevator at New Bavaria, Ohio in 1951, Farmers Elevator transferred to Pleasant Bend, instead of rebuilding. Today, the cooperative has three locations in Pleasant Bend, North Creek and Standley, with over 3-million-bushel storage capacity and 33 employees.

A small cooperative that prides themselves on keeping their customers and employees happy, Farmers Elevator has grown in the grain and agronomy sectors and has pledged to continue to grow within the industry to provide services the farmers need. An example of this is the cooperative’s status as a certified facility in the 4R Nutrient Stewardship Certification Program.

From Farmers Elevator Grain & Supply Association: “OABA has continued to give the industry support on all issues that we have faced. They have recently worked extremely hard on the Lake Erie issue. Thanks to Chris Henney and his staff and everyone involved.”
