OABA Sustaining Sponsor Spotlight: Luckey Farmers, Inc.

Spotlight Header Bronze Sponsor

Opened in 1919 with the goal to buy and sell farm products, Luckey Farmers, Inc. is a member-owned cooperative that has remained true to that mission for nearly 100 years. Luckey Farmers maintains seven grain locations and five agronomy facilities, in addition to three cardtrol petroleum stations.

Founded in Luckey, Ohio, the cooperative was originally known as as Luckey Farmers Exchange Company, officially becoming Luckey Farmers in 1968 with the merger of Sugar Ridge Grain Association. The cooperative still bears the name of the village of Luckey, though operations have since moved.

Luckey Farmers aims to adopt technology that helps strengthen partnerships with its growers. The cooperative is committed to providing the highest quality farm products and services for the success of its members, employees and community.

Through its membership in the Ohio AgriBusiness Association, Luckey Farmers has been able to access multiple education programs, including spray applicator training, grain safety training and grain grading schools. OABA also provides political representation on issues that affect the business, in addition to helping Luckey Farmers adopt and implement 4R Nutrient Stewardship practices to improve water quality in the areas its branches serve.
