Register Now: AFIA Announces Dates of Phase II FSMA Trainings

Source: American Feed Industry Association

AFIA LogoAfter hosting numerous successful Phase I Food Safety Modernization Act in-person trainings in 2014 and early 2015, the American Feed Industry Association will feature webcasts as it introduces Phase II training sessions this spring.

AFIA's Richard Sellers, senior vice president of legislative and regulatory affairs, and Dr. Henry Turlington, director of quality and manufacturing regulatory affairs, have broken down Phase II into a three-part training session to ensure all portions of the rule are thoroughly explained. The sessions will occur on May 5, May 19 and June 2, from 2-4:30 p.m. EDT.

The program will focus on the hazard analysis and identification portion of the FSMA "Current Good Manufacturing Practices and Hazard Analysis and Preventive Controls for Food for Animals" proposed rule. The opportunity will be beneficial to feed, ingredient and pet food professionals who will be responsible for complying with FSMA rules.

Registration is now open for all three training sessions. Each of the three webinars is approved for two continuing education credits by the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists for a possible six CEUs. The early-bird rate is $349 for members and $449 for non-members.

Participants are encouraged to attend all three sessions to receive the full benefit of the trainings. However, the three recordings of Phase II will be provided to all registrants after the final session. The third webcast will be interactive with questions and answers provided in addition to a copy of the webcast.
