Grain Merchandising Manager

CHS Aligned Solutions is partnered with a member cooperative near Decatur, Illinois to hire a Grain Merchandiser Manager.
Be part of a team that values serving customers and adding to their bottom line. Focusing on customer success drives the team to not only work hard but support each other. Not only will this position work with local farmers but will also be responsible for the full-cycle of merchandising grain. This position is a senior-level role and will report into the CEO. Previous grain merchandising experience as well as a solid procurement and logistic coordination background is required.
Position responsibilities:
- Manage Grain Merchandising for a cooperative with a 15 million bushel Grain Division.
- Responsible for the overall profitability of the division including assisting with budgeting and P&L statements.
- Must have excellent financial acumen including being detail oriented and focused on accuracy.
- Manage buying, selling, the ability to coordinate movement of the grain utilizing rail and an internal strong trucking program.
- Partner with Location Managers on quality management, storage capacity and logistics.
- Coordinate logistics of moving grain.
- Work one-on-one with the CEO, evaluating the current grain programs and create solutions-based suggestions to build grain program offerings including for storage and discount options for customers.
Requirements:
- Must have grain merchandising experience in addition to managing grain logistics
- Innovative, forward thinking in marketing and business relationships
- Must have a team-focused approach, working to create unparalleled customer service experience.
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities
