Plant Supervisor

Pro-Pet LLC in St. Marys, Ohio

Pet-Pro LLC, a dynamic growing pet food manufacturing company, is seeking a Plant Supervisor for their St. Marys, Ohio location.

The right candidate must:

  • Have a minimum of three years’ experience in management in human food, pet food, grain milling, or the animal feed Industry is a must
  • Have earned a High School diploma or GED. However, a Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Food Science, Animal Science, Milling Science, Engineering, Business Management, or related discipline preferred.
  • Be an effective oral and written communicator
  • Have excellent time management skills
  • Possess a high energy level and an ability to achieve results through motivating others
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft: Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Be willing to work off shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed EOE

Job Description Summary: The Plant Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day plant operations on their assigned shift.

Reports to: Plant Superintendent

  • Manage day-to-day plant processing and packaging operations, and ensure that the plant is operating safely and at peak efficiency.
  • Motivate plant staff to achieve daily efficiency goals and performance standards
  • Effectively communicate employee safety, food safety and product quality concerns to plant senior management and peers.
  • Minimize mechanical downtime through quick, effective and professional communication to maintenance staff and senior plant management
  • Develop and engage plant staff through effective training, setting expectations, discipline and positive reinforcement
  • Continuously improve product quality through active involvement in daily product cuttings and taking quick and effective action to correct product quality concerns
  • Take ownership of all production paperwork for all direct reports to assure adherence to SQF and plant policies and procedures

Working Conditions:

  • Non- climate controlled plant environment
  • Working hours determined by shift assignment (May be required to work overtime hours and weekends)
  • Comply with all Pro-Pet LLC safety regulations
  • Exposure to machinery, forklifts and related production equipment
