Agricultural Co-op CFO
CHS Member Cooperative in Central Illinois
CHS Aligned Solutions is partnering with a member cooperative in central Illinois to hire a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This position would report directly to the General Manager.
Position Overview:
This key person will be responsible for accounting practices as well as the organization’s relationships with lending institutions, shareholders, and the financial community.
The CFO will be fully responsible for accounting responsibility including, but not limited to: financial reporting, asset management, treasury management, monthly financial reporting and forecasting.
Other responsibilities include:
- Oversee the financials for the multi-location cooperative
- Ensure work is being completed accurately, timely and efficiently
- Process invoicing, A/P & A/R
- Prepare and participate in financial audits
- Reconcile all accounts on the balance sheet to insure an accurate financial report, promptly reporting concerns to the CEO and working together to solve potential issues
- Have a positive, friendly and effective ability to build trusting relationships with customers, management and fellow employees as well as others in the financial community
- Be a team leader, managing duties and those of the division. In addition, be a team player, assisting as needed in other divisions. This could include answering questions for growers or weighing a grain truck if needed. While this won’t be the CFO’s primary responsibility, our team strives for team players.
Qualifications:
- 4-year degree in Business or Accounting, or an associate’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in a related field
- CPA preferred but not required
- Must have previous agricultural accounting experience and knowledge in billing. Experience and knowledge in patronage is helpful but not required
- Knowledge in Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications
- Excellent organizational skills, communications skills, the ability to multi-task, and most importantly, the ability to work well in a team, upholding high ethical behavior
