The Ohio Restaurant Association recently announced the Ohio Restaurant Promise. The new Promise document is designed for restaurant and foodservice establishments that are reopening patios, outside dining, inside dining rooms and other full-service areas. ORA is asking owners/operators to make a commitment about how they are following safety requirements, recommendations for best practices and protocols during the COVID-19 crisis.

This Promise is a commitment between the ORA, health officials across the state, restaurant operators and the public. The Ohio Restaurant Promise is now available on ORA website at ohiorestaurant.org/ohio-restaurant-promise.

Restaurateurs Are Asked To:

  1. Agree to the Promise
  2. Review with their staff
  3. Print the first page
  4. Display it at their restaurants
  5. Link to our Promise website
  6. Let us know they are participating in the Ohio Restaurant Promise

When customers see this endorsement, they can be comfortable knowing the restaurant location is taking necessary steps to protect their employees and customers – that they are committed to playing a leadership role in protecting their guests and communities.

  • The goal is to build confidence and trust in the food system, restaurants, and foodservice locations.
  • It includes the Responsible RestartOhio information released by the state – which explains mandatory requirements and recommended best practices – and links to ServSafe and CDC information.
